Pastel on 100% Rag Paper Matted & Framed to 12.5” x 15.5”  I hate working in pastel! It’s messy as heck, but art sort of tells you what media to work in and this clearly wanted to be a pastel. Sold with matt and lightweight frame, acrylic sheet covering/no glass.

All the ruffly petals were a real challenge in such a powdery medium, but the flowers were so beautiful I couldn’t resist depicting one in all of it’s intricacy. Nothing in Nature is 100% one color, and the surrounding colors are absorbed into the subject as well as the sun and shade. Artists must see beyond the ordinary, even in simple subjects.
